1. Who you are contracting with, and who sells you medicine

JanAushadhiOnline is a platform operated by not yet published ("we"), not yet published. We are a technology and information service. We are not the seller of record for medicines.

Medicines are dispensed and delivered by not yet published, a Janaushadhi Kendra registered under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, retail drug licence not yet published, which employs the registered pharmacist who supervises dispensing. The sale contract for medicine is between you and that Kendra. Its licence number and pharmacist details appear on your invoice.

We are a private, independent service. JanAushadhiOnline is not the Government of India, is not the Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), and does not act on their behalf. The Jan Aushadhi medicines we list are the scheme's own products, dispensed by a registered Kendra.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older and resident in India, ordering for yourself or for an adult who has asked you to. You must give accurate information, and you must not use the app to obtain medicine for resale.

3. Prescription medicines

Medicines classified under Schedule H, H1 or X of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 are dispatched only after a pharmacist registered with a State Pharmacy Council has seen and verified a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner.

We may hold, reduce or cancel an order if a prescription cannot be verified, has expired, does not match the order, or appears altered.
We dispense the quantity the prescription supports, not the quantity you asked for, where the two differ.
Schedule X medicines require the original prescription and are subject to additional register entries.
We do not dispense habit-forming drugs, narcotics or psychotropic substances through this app at all.

A pharmacist may refuse to dispense. That refusal is a professional judgement made under the pharmacist's own registration, and it is final.

4. What a Jan Aushadhi alternative is

A Jan Aushadhi alternative is the same medicine sold under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana at the price the scheme sets. It has the same salt or salts, at the same strengths, in the same dosage form, as the branded medicine your doctor wrote.

We show an alternative only when every salt and every strength is identical, in both directions: nothing extra, nothing missing. A fixed-dose combination is matched as a complete set, so a metformin-only tablet is never offered against a prescription for metformin with glimepiride. Where no Jan Aushadhi alternative exists we may offer a branded alternative with the same composition, and where neither exists, the medicine you searched for itself. Where we cannot match exactly, we say so rather than offer something close.

Some medicines have a narrow therapeutic index — thyroid replacement, anticoagulants, antiepileptics, lithium. For these, tell your doctor before you switch, so your next blood test can be brought forward.

Nothing in the app is medical advice. Composition information, comparisons and pharmacist conversations exist to help you understand what your doctor prescribed. Decisions about your treatment are for you and your doctor. Never stop, start or change a medicine because of something you read in this app.

5. Prices, taxes and payment

Jan Aushadhi medicines are sold at the price set by the scheme. Other medicines are sold at the price shown, never above the printed maximum retail price. Savings compare against the printed maximum retail price of the branded pack you searched for. Where an annual figure is shown, it assumes one tablet a day unless the screen says otherwise, and it is an illustration of the price difference rather than a promise about your spend.

Every price carries the date it was last updated. Where that date is more than 30 days old, the app says so next to the number.

Prices include GST where applicable and are shown inclusive at checkout. The price shown when you pay is the price you are charged. We may correct an obvious pricing error and will cancel and refund rather than dispatch at a wrong price.

Payment is by UPI. We do not store card or bank credentials.

6. Delivery

Estimated delivery dates are estimates, not commitments. We are not liable for delay caused by a courier, weather, a public holiday, or an address that cannot be found. Medicine requiring cold chain is dispatched only where the route supports it.

Delivery is free above ₹499 and ₹39 below it, stated before you pay. The app offers ordinary items at their usual price to help you cross the threshold; nothing is marked up to fund the delivery.

7. Cancellation, returns and refunds

An order cannot be cancelled by you once it is placed.

We replace an item or refund it only where we delivered the wrong item, or a medicine that expires within three months of delivery. Call us within 15 days of delivery; requests are handled by phone only. We may ask for a photograph. Medicine cannot otherwise be returned, because a medicine that has left a licensed premises cannot lawfully be resold.

If we cannot fulfil an order, for example because a prescription cannot be verified, we cancel it and refund you in full.

Refunds go back to the payment instrument that made the payment, normally within seven working days.

8. Your account

Keep your device and your OTP to yourself. Anyone with access to your number can place an order. Tell us at once if you think your account has been used without your knowledge.

We may suspend an account that shows signs of prescription forgery, bulk buying for resale, or abuse of our staff.

9. What we are responsible for, and what we are not

We are responsible for operating the platform with reasonable skill and care, for showing composition information accurately, and for passing your order to a licensed pharmacy correctly.

We are not liable for the clinical appropriateness of a medicine your doctor prescribed, for a reaction to a medicine correctly dispensed, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Our aggregate liability for any order is limited to the value of that order.

10. Intellectual property

The app, its content and its brand are ours. Medicine names and brand names belong to their owners and are used descriptively, to identify the medicine you searched for. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any pharmaceutical company named in the app.

11. Grievances

Write to not yet published. Our Grievance Officer is not yet published, contactable at the registered office below. We acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within 30 days, as the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at the place of our registered office have exclusive jurisdiction.
